Time for bed
And yet another piece of my childhood has gone, British children's telly genius Oliver Postgate has died. I don't have time to write much else but these clips are tribute enough.
This record has nothing to do with Postgate but seems to fit in with the general feel of charming English oddness that all his shows had.

Funnily enough I was sifting through the Fuzzy Felt Folk comp myself today to post about this.
But it's all too much. I'm going to go and watch the mice making chocolate digestives instead....
Sad biut at least our generation enjoyed the clangers, Bagpuss et al. What's even sadder is my 5 yr old won't even watch these, prefering crap like Ben 10

My 2 year old likes Bagpuss but her real love is Charlie and Lola (which I like too)
Postgate and Firmin created all this genius in an old cowshed just a couple of miles down the road from my childhood home. If you should find yourself in East Kent at any time, take a look in the Museum of Canterbury, where the exhibits include the original Bagpuss figures and some Clangers. There's a wee bit more about this here.
