Home for the Hols

I'm flying off to London today for a weeks holiday so there won't be any new posts until after the festive season. It'll be the first time I've been "home" for Christmas in probably 10 years so I'm looking forward to it more than usual for the obvious reasons: Seeing the family, cozy pubs, turkey and roast tatties (they don't have those for Christmas in the States), mince pies, the Queen on the telly, the tree in Trafalgar Square. If you avoid Oxford Street the city is a lovely place to be this time of year.

So have a very merry Christmas everyone. I'll see you on the other side of it.

Lee - Have a great Christmas back in London!

There's still a few of those cozy pubs to be found even though they reckon loads close down every week. I'm in Richmond and I can recommend the White Cross by the River, I think I'll be dropping in there on Christmas Day...

Merry Xmas!

Thanks for the great song, Lee. I love the way Saint Etienne evokes a half-remembered and half-imagined past (much like your blog actually).

Enjoy the homecoming, and all the best to you and yours in the coming year.

Merry Christmas old boy. I'm sure there will be magic in the London air - especially around your little one.

Every best wish.

Why is it that Davy and the other Brits can call someone "dear boy" and it works, but if I were to do so, it would read as if I were a real twit? One of those mysteries of life, I guess. Oh, and have a great visit home and a peaceful holiday season!
