Ah the Hellfire Club episode. They're showing The Avengers on BBC4 late on Friday nights, currently it's the black and white episodes. Last nights had a dodgy moment where she visits a shoemaker who has a foot fetish and he was getting rather sweaty over her feet.
I love The Avengers, and Mrs Peel especially...

What was happening to English culture in the '60s? Things like this make it sound like the cracking and shuddering you hear from a glacier just as it's about to shatter.
It's what happens when you don't have to spend all your time running an Empire anymore.
