Something for the weekend

My wife just sent me a link to this and for some reason I'd never seen it before. Always loved the song of course but with the video it almost made me cry. Either I'm just a soppy old git or work stress has turned me into an emotional wreck - or it really is that lovely.

Dick is right. I somehow missed Saint Etienne in the 90s but borrowed the 'Best of..' CD from the library a year or two ago and quickly identified 'Hobart Paving' as the best song on it.

I've never seen that either. They really are superb. One of my most favourite bands ever, without question.

and poor lovely battlebridge road and the gas towers are all gone now in the sad mess of dull new kings cross. the final rooftop party there was heartbreaking - nearly as much as this.
it's where high hopes was filmed too.

Lovely song, never saw the video, thanks for posting. There are some tear-jerkers on the Sarah Cracknell solo record as well (I'm thinking of the song 'Ready Or Not').
