If anyone tried to visit this blog yesterday they would have noticed that it wasn't available. Bit of a cock-up at my end I'm afraid, I forgot to renew my account with my web hosting service and by the time I realized I missed the due date they'd taken me down. So I had a whip round and did some busking to raise the necessary funds and I'm back again. Though posting has been a little on and off here lately so I wouldn't be surprised if no one even noticed I was gone for a day.
Anyway, how about some obscure New Wave from 1979? The title seems appropriate. I know very little about The Zones except they were Scottish and featured former and future members of Slik, The Skids and Simple Minds in their lineup but this is, as they say, a cracker.

Well I missed you. I thought you had been hijacked by the Blog Police for posting a mp3 that they didn't like!
Lee, you star! I must admit, I feel that way sometimes (I was offline for a month, did you notice?!?), but you've come back in style. I believe we were discussing the Last Summer soundtrack, and this is the track I missed off that comp. Cheers muchly!
Ah. There you are squire.
Never heard this one before - and I thought I'd heard most things 1979. Clearly not. Mind you I did join the RAF that summer and spent most of July in a Lincolnshire forest biting the heads off rabbits or marching aimlessly up and down a Parade Square. Twas also the invasion of the greenfly this week 29 years ago. Try standing still with a hundred of the little bleeders up yer nose and in yer ears whilst a little obnoxious Scottish Cpl who looks like an uglier Tommy Docherty screams obsceneties about yer mother in yer face.
Sorry lee, I seem to have gorn off on a complete tangeant again. Welcome back.
Yea, I did notice. Thought it was just a temporary glitch though. Glad you're back up and running.
Never heard of the Zones, but I'll take a listen.
Yes, did miss you the other day - a visit to your site being as constant as the rain on a British summer's day...
No, never heard of The Zones, although it might ring a bell when I play it. Doesn't matter, your postings are always worth investigating.

Holy criminy, of course I missed the blog! Ever since I ran across your blog by accident I check it daily looking for musical bits and memory spawners. Have become addicted....
Though I cannot return the favor by posting my blog (I don't have one), I do however have a myspace (which I use to keep tabs on my daughter)....missbliss65
Cheers and keep it up!
Well thanks all, that's nice to know.
Though it does make me feel bad that I'm not writing as much as I used to. But you try holding down my job and having a 20-month-old daughter at the same time. I'm too kanckered half the time.
Kanckered?? is that worse than knackered?? bloody hell, that little girl is sure taking it out of you ;-))
londonlee, I dig your posts very much. Cheers for the efforts, sporadic or not.
