The face rings a bell
This picture was taken in 1977 at The Roxy club in London and if you can tear your eyes away from the two leggy young ladies in the foreground for a second, have a look at the bloke at the back on the left. Isn't that Howard Devoto? I think it is.
Any excuse to post some Magazine.

Ahh, punk girls. So many memories, most of them tinged with eye-popping frustration and vague embarassment, even after all these years.
Sorry, Howard who? You were saying?
i love the kid in his school uniform.
Strange though; compare this picture with the pictures of the school kids in your post of a couple of weeks ago. This picture could have been taken a few weeks ago; the school kids look like a whole other lifetime away. Funny that those kids were running around with their Childrens' Film Foundation haircuts while Punk was happening.
And is it wrong that I'm absolutely loving the girl at the front of the photo? Forget Howard Devoto; who was she?
JC, is it a slightly unrepresentative Dave Formula?
'...And I'm trying to work out who it is sitting next to a relatively hairy Howard D...'
I think it may be Martin Jackson, Magazines original drummer. I think he only played on 1st album 'Real Life'....
Looks like Designer Malcolm garrett sitting next to Howard
Could be Howard...and i'd say martin Jackson and John Mckeogh...Mind you i saw them in late 77 and if you look at the spiral scratch EP he doesn't have that much hair.
One of the Classic bands of all time.
The shots of you as kids is great i'd forgot how the school tie should really be worn..
