Something for the weekend

How can something so happy make me want to cry?

I think it's called nostalgia.

So many of your posts mirror my own London experiences.

Things I'd forgotten I'd forgotten.

We were obviously buying the same records, and going to the same gigs.

Great stuff!

And anyway, crying's ok!

Simon - same here!

and the Double Deckers clip is the launching pad for of my favourite conversation-stopping true facts: that's Brinsley Out Of Aswad there in the cast.

Melvyn Hayes had a great hand in this...not the one from 'It Ain't Half Hot Mum', was it?

It certainly was .. 'Lovely boy!'

He'd cut his Routemaster teeth on 'Summer Holiday' with Cliff & Una Stubbs.

I have vague memories of this show being on TV in the states.
People thought I was crazy whenever I asked about it!!

Thanks for the fuzzy memory!

I used to love this show, so it was great to revisit. Great blog all round.

Nice blog!

This caught my eye as Debbie 'Tiger' Russ was four year above me at school. Which would maker her around 48 now. Heavens.

And I never realised the Double Deckers were in colour! We had a black and white TV until at least 1976.
